Competition in Bury St.Edmunds December 2012 – the results

Another good result for CARISMA at the CKA competition in Bury St.Edmunds yesterday:

  • Phil Richardson managed to easily control his opponent throughout the three rounds and secured a clear victory.
  • Alan Brand found a shorter and aggressive opponent that neatly won the first round. Alan managed to ramp up his strategy and aggressiveness scoring with a few kicks  and increasing pressure from his upper body recovering the situation and winning.
  • Felix Schmitten, in a rematch with the same opponent, lost this time by a small and nearly arguable fraction.
  •  Simone Masiero, at his first fight, lost against a much taller and aggressive opponent; however he managed to fend off many of his attacks and, given a bit more experience he could have turn the result in his favour.

Once more a demonstration that hard work and preparation is paying back and any determined person can actually learn how to fight and to win.

New face for the CARISMA wesbite

CARISMA is launching today a new theme for its website/blog once more based on WordPress.

The new site is organized by keeping the essential number of static pages for non changing content and streaming all news, events and other articles by grouping them in categories and tagging them: this way any user can seach information by date, category or relevant tag.

Many thanks to Andrea Cristofaro for the graphic design.

Please check that everything works and links do resolve properly and leave your comments!!!

Competition in Bury St.Edmunds – December 2012

As the weigh in is between 9:30 and 10am I would suggest to leave at 8:45 (sharp) from the club’s registered address, 222 Histon Road CB4 3HJ. In case of any problem please ring me on 07879 610111.

We need more cars please, none of the fighter apart from Alan (to the best of knowledge) has a car so it would be great if we could get some spectators, best if with own car, so they can carry some of the people.

Fighters must have a full kit of pads: mouth guard, 10oz Gloves with hand wraps, separate foot pads that covers toes and hills, shin guard, groin guard, CARISMA (or a plain black) T-Shirt and long black trousers. We have a couple of head guards that you can borrow.

Please make sure you bring a towel, change of clothes and a bottle of water. Usually snacks are available of side but bring your own food and avoid eating or drinking excessively to be in best shape.

The address of the location is:
Risby Village Hall
