Competition in Bury St.Edmunds Apr 2012

A total of 5 athletes, combining members of CARISMA and Cambridge University Kickboxing Society will be attending the competition in Bury St.Edmund organised by Combat Kickboxing Academy.

Venue:
STANTON COMMUNITY VILLAGE HALL
OLD BURY ROAD
STANTON IP31 2BX

Date/Time: 15 April 2012 registrations at 9:30am.

Departure will be at 8:45am from the club’s registered address.

Please let us know if you are interested in spectating, particularly if you have a car and willing to drive ther as we have shortage of cars.

Easter Break 2012

CARISMA wishes a warm Happy Easter to all members, their families, friends and relatives as well as to all readers of our blog.

The club will be training until Thursday 5 April and then start again on Tuesday 10.  There will be no official lesson (although we suspect that some of members in town may decide to meet in a park and do some training: check the Facebook group if you are interested) on Sunday 8 and Monday 9.

Beginners Course April 2012

The next CARISMA beginners course, will start on Tuesday 17 April 2012 to run for 4 consecutive Tuesday and Thursday classes (e.g. 17, 19, 24, 26).  We recently enjoyed several busy beginners’ courses (see picture) and we usually have Tues and Thurs classes (our busiest ones) with many people training, between 30 and 40 individuals.

So if you would like to join (or you know somebody who would like to) please do it on the 17 April.

Please notice: you must join the beginners’ course just if you are a total beginnner. Any previous experience in striking martial arts (kickboxing, muai thai, karate, tae kwon do, kung fu, etc…) is appreciated and will allow you to join without without going through the beginners’ course. Please get in touch with us if in doubt.

There is no need for booking for beginners: please just turn up at 6pm at Kelsey Kerridge.

Cambridge University Kickboxing Society won yesterday the 5th Kickboxing Varsity match vs. Oxford University Kickboxing Club for a final result of 5-4!

I was proud of the final result although the Oxford athletes performed well and in this occasion demonstrated a distinct improvement of their technique pushing our athletes into some seriously tough fights.

It was a pleasure finishing the day in a very friendly way with the whole Oxford team and good part of our fighters at a local bar for some well deserved beers.
