Competition in Thurston Mar 2009

9 fighters, between CARISMA, CUKBS and ARUKBC, participated in a Light Contact Competition organized by Pete Dunnet and the Combat Academy Kickboxing in Thurston (near Bury St. Edmund, Suffolk).

The overall results are extremely encouraging:

CARISMA fighters showed once more to have a distinct style, good technique and all those qualities that a martial artist should have by definition: even those at their first experience entered competently the tournament and stood their ground with good performance.

Beginners Course April 2009

CARISMA is running a new beginners course, starting on the 21 April to run for 4 consecutives  Tueday  and Thursday classes (e.g. 21, 23, 28, 30).

If you would like to join (or you know somebody who would like to) please do it on the 21st: the club is very close to its full capacity and we might not run another beginners course for a while after this date.

There is no need for booking: please just turn up at 6pm at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall, Queen Anne terrace, Cambridge.

CARISMA at MAF-UK 2009

CARISMA has been invited to take part in two demonstrations of Kickboxing and Multicombat at the Martial Arts Festival UK that will be held in Leicester on 4 and 5 April 2009.

The Festival will have a section with exhibitors presenting their own products and services as well as running a number of workshops and demonstrations from martial artists all around the country and personalities such as Alan Gibson, Gok Wan, Silvio Simac, Chris Crudelli and many others.

A small group of CARISMA member will be selected to represent the club in the 2 half hour shows to be held on Sat 4 April. Please express you interested in being part of it (minimum technical standard and rank required) or if you would like to visit.  Those intending to be part of the show should consider to be busy for the whole of Sat, leaving Cambridge at about 8am.
