I would like to remind to everyone that Kickathon is happening this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July; if you would like to raise money for EACH please get a form from Massimo at the classes. Alternatively you could ask people to donate on line. We set up a CARISMA page on Just Giving and the money will go directly to EACH. In short for every £1 you collect you have to do 10 kicks against a pad… it is going to be fun!

CARISMA BIG Weekend 2012 – Kickathon
Join us, together with many other sports clubs from Cambridge to celebrate sports and promote out club. This ia a 2 days initiative organised by Cambridge City Council where we will have a small stand to make demonstrations and allow people from the general public to experience what training with CARISMA is about.
We need volunteers to help with demonstrations and answer inquiries as well as running two featured demonstrations on stage at 2:30pm on Saturday 7 July and 2pm on Sunday 8.
We’ll also run a Kickathon where all members from the club will be invited to get sponsored to perform as many kicks as possible at the rate ogf £0.10 per kick. Encouraged sponsorship is either £5.00 for 50 kicks or £10.00 for 100 kicks. All money collected will be donated to EACH (East Anglia Children Hospice). Please join us; let us know by commenting on this post or RSVP on our Facebook Event.
Join the CARISMA Annual BBQ 2012
To celebrate the social as well as martial aspects of our club we are going to have the annual BBQ on 16 June 2012. Please contact us to book your place before Tuesday 12 June.
Every year CARISMA is celebrating its anniversary (13th this year) with a BBQ extended to all members (and family/partners) and we hope many people will be able to make it.
As usual we ask a small contribution of £10 (£5 for people that just drink soft drinks) to all members to cover for their food and drinks that will all be provided. The club matches all monies collected so effectively all guests get a treat of food and drinks worth twice the money they pay. Partners and Family members are welcome and will be asked to pay an extra £5 to the standard contribution (e.g. £10 for people that just consume soft drinks and £15 for the others). As usual we consider members those who are currently training and paying monthly fees to the club. People that no longer train with the club is welcome but will be charged the partner/family fees.
All bookings must be done in advance and paid for; payments are non refundable. Please RSVP a.s.a.p.!
There is also a Facebook event to help with RSVP and giving us an idea of people coming along.
Martial Arts as Stress Buster
I have recently run a number of stress busting sessions with students of the Universtity of Cambridge and then with some members of the Springboard(); team. The results were very interesting so I wrote a post on my Martial What? blog. Read the full article here.
