Competition in Peterborough, 17 Jun 2007On the 17th June martial artists from around the region gathered once more at Peterborough for the Championship, Series 2007. The Cambridge Riverside Martial Arts, CARISMA, has been cultivating its talents and sent a team of 3 people. Heley Matthew took a convincing first place against a very strong opponent in the Ladies Open Light Continuous, the first of many we are sure. In a much closer contest, following a split decision and a 30 second extension, Colin McGerty was just beaten into second place in the Men.s Open Light Continuous and Andrew Mitchell took third, also in Men.s Open Light Continuous. Thanks to all those who helped to prepare, coach and support our fighters on the day. We hope to continue this success in the two remaining competitions this year. Please let your instructor know if you are interested in competing or spectating at the next competition on Sunday 16th September. Massimo Gaetani, master of the club and on site couch was very impressed, proud and happy of the result of the club's young and promising pupils.
Have a look at Heley's final:
