-
Introduction: Massimo welcomed everyone to the meeting
-
Financial report and Attendance figures:
MH gave a report on the club's finances. The clubs finances have been stable for
the past year, reflecting a fairly consistent membership. Over the next year we
can expect Kelsey Kerridge to increase their fees which may cause the balance to
start to decrease, however given the healthy amount the club currently has this is
not yet cause for concern.
-
Review for the past year (Massimo):
- The two room arrangement continues to prove very successful
- The beginners classes in the past year have not been as large as in
previous years, but we have gained several dedicated members.
-
The technical level of the club has improved over the past year,
though Becky will leave us soon which will be a great loss. Attention to
detail has grown, and should continue to be important:
-
Robin T and Becky would like to practice jumping techniques more
-
Emma pointed out that we don't do enough sliding techniques
If there are other techniques or things that people would like to more/less of,
then they are invited to tell Massimo or one of the other instructors.
-
More people are wearing the club uniform, but this could still be better.
Club uniform means, Carisma T-shirt or black gi-jacket, black gi-trousers
and a belt (knotted correctly).
-
Davina asked whether we'll run another survey, answer is not yet.
-
No AGT this year as it is hard to organise and interest never
seems enough to justify it. Colin said he'd prefer more KB and less
Multi-combat at the AGT, problem with this is that it's hard to dictate to
Master Bottini as to what gets practiced. Massimo also answered that in
general all seminars organized by the club are meant to train and practice
one or more aspects of what we do: all seminars are useful, regardless the
personal taste of people.
-
From 23rd July to the end of August, Sunday training sessions
will be held on Jesus Green.
-
Seminars, these are good and people are encouraged to come to them (e.g
Wing Chun). The club will continue to try and organise these as and when
possible.
- Sebastien asked whether the club would organise a competition. The
answer is no, not enough interest from all but a few members of the club
to justify the effort and we don.t really need to advertise more
than we currently do.
- Committee positions:
-
Ian P resigned from the committee a month ago after a long period
of inactivity.
-
Anyone in the club is eligible for the committee though practical
reasons mean that it is advantageous for them to have regular access to
email.
-
Raheela has promised to train more.
-
James Bush was unanimously elected to fill the empty committee post, the
rest of the committee will continue in their current roles (Massimo:
President, Mark: Treasurer, Robin W and Raheela).
-
A.O.B.:
-
James Bush thanked the instructors for their efforts over the
year.
-
Royston was 30 that day.
Prepared by Mark Hoyle.
